Renowned Ghanaian actress Nadia Buari has shared insights on the portrayal of kissing scenes in films.
In an interview on October 23, 2024, with Godwin Namboh and Anita Akuffo on TV3’s The Afternoon Show, Buari revealed that these scenes are staged to create the illusion of realism for viewers.

She explained that actors aim to make the scenes appear genuine and convincing to the audience. According to Buari, there are no genuine emotions involved in these on-screen kisses; they are crafted solely to enhance the characters’ experiences within the story.
“They are not real. It is make-believe,” she stated. “However, we are trying to convince people. We were really kissing, but it is real for the characters, not for the actors. There are no feelings involved.”
Buari emphasized that it is challenging for actors to engage emotionally during kissing scenes, especially since these acts are performed in front of numerous cast and crew members.
After a hiatus from acting, Nadia Buari is set to return to screens with the film “Forever in a Night,” produced by John N. Okwugo and directed by Jameel Buari. The movie is scheduled to premiere on November 9, 2024, at the Accra Mall and West Hills Mall in Accra.
In addition to Nadia Buari, the film features actors Godwin Namboh, Samera Buari, Queenstar Anaafi, and Fred Sarpong.
The narrative revolves around a woman who appears to have it all until her world is turned upside down in a single night.
