Nathan Kofi Boakye, a retired Commissioner of Police (COP) and a key figure in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) security team, has called on party supporters to reject the divisive effects of greed and prioritize unity.
Speaking at the Ashanti Regional Zone Two campaign team’s victory celebration in Kumasi over the weekend, COP (retired) Boakye stressed the need for solidarity as the NDC prepares to assume office.

“If we support one another, we will approach the 2028 elections with greater strength and renewed determination. Let us not allow greed to divide us,” he urged.
He also advised potential appointees in the incoming government to act in the collective interest of the party and refrain from using their positions to intimidate others who may not receive appointments.
“While we have won the election and will form the next government from January 7, 2025, not everyone here will receive an appointment. Those who do must demonstrate leadership by serving the interests of all and showing care for their fellow party members, not intimidation,” he stated.
Boakye reiterated the importance of using leadership positions to foster unity and strengthen the party for the challenges ahead.
“At the moment, we walk with our heads held high because we have defeated the NPP in the 2024 election – a victory we are all sharing due to our hard work. Let’s use the same energy to support our elected president and appointees in bringing about positive change, which will ensure even greater rewards from Ghanaians in the 2028 elections.”
He praised the party members for their contributions throughout the campaign season, expressing, “I would like to take this opportunity to commend you all for your efforts.”
