Korle Bu CEO Opoku Ware Ampomah set to end tenure on october 5

The Board of Directors of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) has announced that Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah’s four-year term as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will come to an end on October 5, 2024.

In a letter dated October 3, 2024, the Board expressed appreciation for Dr. Ampomah’s commitment and significant contributions to the hospital’s progress and development during his tenure.

The letter, signed by Board Chairman Dr. David Kansa, read, “On behalf of the Board, I extend our heartfelt congratulations for your dedication and invaluable contributions to the growth and development of the hospital during your time as CEO.”

While awaiting further directives from the appointing authorities, the Board has named Dr. Frank Owusu Sekyere, Director of Medical Affairs, as Interim CEO, starting October 6, 2024.

This temporary appointment aims to maintain smooth hospital operations and ensure patient care during the transition period.

The Board also urged all stakeholders to offer their full cooperation and support during this transition, stating, “We request the cooperation and support of all stakeholders during this period of change.”
