Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has urged Nsoatreman FC to represent Ghana with pride in the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup.

The preliminary round matches are scheduled from August 16 to August 25, with the second round set for September 13 and 22.

As FA Cup champions, Nsoatreman FC will face TP Elect Sport of Chad in the first preliminary round.

If Nsoatreman FC advances, they will compete against either CS Constantine of Algeria or Police FC of Rwanda in the second round, with the goal of securing a place in the group stages.

In his address to the team, Okraku stressed the importance of their participation: “You carry the hopes of over 30 million Ghanaians. Stay focused and take your training seriously.

Competing in Africa offers great opportunities, and I strongly hope that you will elevate our country’s flag as you embark on this journey.”

Okraku highlighted the recent achievements of Ghanaian clubs in continental competitions, pointing out that Medeama SC reached the group stage of the CAF Champions League, and Dreams FC advanced to the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup last season, becoming the first Ghanaian team to do so since 2004.

Meanwhile, Nsoatreman FC has undergone a change in their technical team, with Yaw Preko taking over as head coach following Maxwell Konadu’s departure to South Africa after leading the team to an FA Cup victory.

In preparation for their debut in continental competition, the team has made significant signings to strengthen their squad and make a strong impression.
