The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, has appointed Kwasi Asante as the Director of Passports, effective Monday, August 19, 2024.

As the new Director of Passports, Mr. Asante will oversee the management and administration of the passport issuance process.
His responsibilities will include developing and implementing policies, ensuring compliance with passport standards, and coordinating with other government agencies to ensure effective passport administration.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Asante served as the Chargé d’Affaires at Ghana’s Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and has held various diplomatic positions, including Deputy Ambassador at the same embassy and Director of Operations at the Passport Office.
His extensive diplomatic career includes roles in Israel, Korea, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
