Kwesi Appiah and Abdul Aziz Issah have been nominated for the 2024 CAF Awards, scheduled for December 16 in Marrakesh.

The announcement highlights Ghana’s strong representation across multiple categories.

Kwesi Appiah, head coach of Sudan’s national football team, is a contender for Coach of the Year due to his remarkable transformation of the squad, guiding them close to qualifying for AFCON 2025.

Under his leadership, Sudan reached its highest FIFA ranking in nearly a decade, following their 2-0 victory over Ghana in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

Abdul Aziz Issah, meanwhile, has been nominated in two categories: CAF Inter-club Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year.

His contributions to Dreams FC’s impressive run to the CAF Confederation Cup, where he scored four goals, have earned him these nominations.

Issah also played a key role in the Ghana U-20 team’s triumph at the African Games, further solidifying his nomination as a standout young talent.

Dreams FC has also been nominated for CAF Inter-club Team of the Year, following their semi-final appearance in their first African campaign.
