In a show of solidarity, La traditional leaders, led by Numoo Yemi VII, joined protesters at Labadi Beach Hotel to demonstrate against the controversial sale of state-owned hotels.
The demonstration, convened by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP for North Tongu, aims to pressure the government to cancel the sale of 60% shares in four hotels owned by SSNIT to Rock City Hotel, a company linked to Minister Bryan Acheampong.

The protest march, which began at Labadi Beach Hotel, will culminate at Christ the King School, located near the Jubilee House.
Ablakwa argues that selling state assets to government officials constitutes an abuse of power and must be stopped.
The hotels involved in the sale are Labadi Beach Hotel, La Palm Royal Beach Resort, Elmina Beach Resort, and Busua Beach Resort.
The demonstrators, clad in white, are urging the government to halt the sale, which they deem unlawful and detrimental to the state’s interests.
The La chiefs’ participation in the protest adds significant weight to the campaign, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability in government dealings.
