La Liga’s December fixture between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid might be held in Miami, pending approval from FIFA.
If approved, this would be the first La Liga match to take place in the United States.
The match is scheduled for December 22, just before La Liga’s winter break.
Both teams will also participate in the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia in early January.
In April, FIFA withdrew from a legal battle with Relevent, a promoter aiming to host league matches in the U.S., and later established a working group to evaluate the impact of hosting domestic matches abroad.
