La Liga is officially back, with 20 teams competing for the coveted trophy and the excitement of matches between Real Madrid and Barcelona on the horizon.

This season, Ghanaian fans have an added reason to watch, as six Ghanaians will represent their country in the competition.

Leading the charge is Athletic Club forward Iñaki Williams, the most prominent Ghanaian player in La Liga.

At 30 years old, Williams holds the record for the most appearances (343) and goals (76) by a Ghanaian. As vice-captain of his club, he faces increased expectations this season.

Joseph Aidoo, who missed most of last season due to an ankle injury sustained on international duty, is now fully fit and ready for the new campaign with Celta Vigo.

With 130 league appearances to his name, the defender aims to secure a starting position and make a strong impact.

Rayo Vallecano defender Abdul Mumin has made a significant impact since joining the club in 2022, scoring once in 36 appearances.

This season, he is expected to anchor the defense as the Red Sashes aim to secure their place in La Liga.

Getafe’s central midfielder Sabit Abdulai, who has been with the club since 2020, has had limited league action due to multiple loan spells, with just three appearances and no goals.

However, this season offers Abdulai a chance to establish himself after returning from a loan stint with Murcia.

Valencia midfielder Ali Fadal and Real Valladolid’s Eugene Frimpong are both newcomers to La Liga and will be aiming to make their debuts in the upcoming matches.

Will Iñaki Williams continue to lead in goals, or will another player rise to prominence?
