The Coalition of La Associations and the Ga Dangme Coalition Against Land Injustice will hold a demonstration today, July 30, to protest what they describe as wrongful land seizures by political entities in the Greater Accra Region.
Their focus is on the Trade Fair land, which includes areas occupied by Labadi Beach and La Palm Royal Beach Hotels.
The group claims that the original landowners have not received the legally required compensation.
They have also raised concerns about the Prisons Service property at Cantonments, where a private developer plans to use part of the area for private ventures and redevelop the facilities.
Meanwhile, the Defence and Interior Committee of Parliament is scheduled to visit the Ghana Prisons Service Barracks at Cantonments and the Ghana Prisons Service land at Roman Ridge in Accra on Tuesday to address the issues raised by the youth group.
