Mounir Nasraoui, father of Barcelona player Lamine Yamal, is currently hospitalized and recovering from a violent attack that occurred on Wednesday evening.
He sustained multiple stab wounds in a car park near his residence in Mataró, north of Barcelona.
According to local reports, the incident followed a confrontation with a group of individuals earlier that day.
Three suspects have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, with a fourth person also in custody.
Nasraoui has since taken to social media to update his condition, expressing appreciation for the support he has received.
“Thank you all for your encouragement, I’m better now,” he posted. “A big hug to everyone.”
While the investigation is ongoing, it has been revealed that Nasraoui has a prior history with his attackers, spanning several years.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the football community and has cast a shadow over the recent success of his son, who played a crucial role in Spain’s Euro 2024 victory.
