Late Ayawaso East MP’s wife, Hajia Amina Adam requests virtual vetting

Hajia Amina Adam, widow of the late Ayawaso East MP, Mahama Naser Toure, has requested to be vetted virtually ahead of the February 7 National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primary.

This was disclosed by the Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the NDC, Theophilus Tetteh Chaie, on Tuesday, January 27.

Hajia Amina Adam is currently observing ‘Iddah’, a four-month, period of widowhood seclusion in accordance with Islamic practices.

Speaking to journalists during the filing of nominations by aspirants, Mr. Tetteh Chaie said the party is yet to take a decision on her request.

The request follows Hajia Amina Adam’s formal filing of her nomination to contest the NDC parliamentary slot in the Ayawaso East constituency.

She will face four other contenders in the race for the party’s ticket, including Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Baba Jamal Mohammed Ahmed
