Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has called on the people of Asanteman to actively support the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, in order to secure a landslide victory in the upcoming December 7 elections.

Reflecting on the past, he noted how all 47 constituencies in the Ashanti Region united to support John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, helping the NPP achieve electoral success. He urged Asanteman to extend that same support to Bawumia.

“The Ashanti Region is the heart of the NPP, and it is through your love, support, and overwhelming votes that our party has produced effective leaders like John Kufuor and Nana Akufo-Addo for Ghana,” he stated.

“It is now time for our visionary, hardworking, energetic, and development-focused leader, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, to receive your unwavering support and votes, enabling the NPP to break the eight and make history.”

Dr. Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO in political circles, expressed confidence that the people would support Dr. Bawumia as they did for Kufuor in 2000 and 2004, and for Akufo-Addo in 2016 and 2020, helping the NPP retain power and continue its positive contributions to the country on December 7.

Speaking to the chiefs and residents of Kokofu in the Bekwai Constituency on September 24, he described Bawumia as the most qualified candidate to succeed President Akufo-Addo.

He urged voters to focus on competence rather than a candidate’s ethnicity or religion, asserting that Bawumia is the right choice based on his track record.

“This election is not about ethnicity, tribe, or religion; it’s about choosing the right person who can continue the good works of President Akufo-Addo and guide us toward a brighter future. That person is Dr. Bawumia,” NAPO said, receiving applause from the audience.

He highlighted Bawumia’s exceptional competence and experience as the former running mate and vice president for eight years, stating, “Dr. Bawumia has been tested and is ready for the job.”

According to NAPO, Dr. Bawumia has served the country faithfully without being accused of corruption, showcasing his strong leadership skills.

“With Dr. Bawumia in charge, we can be confident that our national resources will be secure because he is not corrupt,” he affirmed.

“I will serve and support Dr. Bawumia just as he did for Nana Akufo-Addo.”

Currently campaigning across constituencies in the Ashanti Region, NAPO is advocating for Bawumia’s vision and accomplishments to the electorate.
