Liverpool moved up to second in Premier League after goals from Fabinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain earned them a 3-0 victory over Brentford at Anfield.
Juergen Klopp’s win lifted Juergen Klopp’s side above Chelsea and left them 11 points behind Manchester City, who still have a game to play.
Liverpool, who are without Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah who are playing at African Cup of Nations, struggled to open up the Brentford defence. But, Liverpool broke through a minute before half-time when a corner by Trent Alexander-Arnold bounced off the backpost and was pounced on by Fabinho.

London’s side continued to be resilient, remaining in the match until the 69th minutes when Oxlade Chamberlain moved at the backpost to receive a fantastic cross from Andy Robertson.
Substitute Minamino wrapped up the win, tapping home after Brentford’s attempt to play out from the back was intercepted by Roberto Firmino who set up the Japanese forward for a simple finish.
