The final funeral rites for Nana Akpor Kainya, father of renowned highlife musician and pastor Lord Kenya, were held at Kumasi Sports Stadium’s Hero’s Park over the weekend.

Nana Akpor Kainya, who passed away nearly a month ago at the age of 78, was laid to rest at his home in Apemso, Ashanti Region.
During the remembrance, Lord Kenya shared clips from the ceremony and spoke emotionally about the significant impact his father had on his life and character.
Lord Kenya, wearing a distinctive funeral outfit with his father’s photo engraved on it, attracted a large crowd to the event.
The funeral saw the presence of numerous dignitaries, including local chiefs, who came to honor the late Nana Akpor Kainya.
