Enzo Maresca suffered a 2-0 defeat against Manchester City last weekend in his first game since arriving from Leicester to replace Mauricio Pochettino during the close season.

Chelsea got their first win under Maresca with a UEFA Conference League play-off victory against Servette on Thursday.

However, that modest success was merely a warm-up for their goal-scoring explosion at Molineux.

Maresca’s side got off to an ideal start just 98 seconds into the match when Matheus Cunha’s attempted clearance from a corner inadvertently found Nicolas Jackson, who was left unmarked to head home from six yards out.

Jackson’s goal further fueled the anger of Wolves fans, who were already upset with Chelsea after Madueke posted and then deleted a critical comment about Wolverhampton just hours before the match.

Madueke shared his location in Wolverhampton with a post that read, “this place is s**t.”

He later tried to clarify, posting: “Damn, wrong Instagram account. You lot are too fast.”

In the 27th minute, Cunha brought Wolves level, once again tormenting the Blues as he had with his hat-trick at Stamford Bridge last season.

After Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo carelessly lost possession, Rayan Ait-Nouri surged forward and set up Cunha, who unleashed a powerful strike that flew past Robert Sanchez, sparking a samba-dancing goal celebration.

Chelsea regained the lead in the 45th minute when Cole Palmer received a flick from Jackson and delivered a sublime lob over Wolves keeper Jose Sa.

The thrilling match swung back in Chelsea’s favor in the 49th minute when Palmer set up Madueke, whose shot deflected off Ait-Nouri and into the net.

Madueke found the back of the net again nine minutes later, calmly slotting the ball through Sa’s legs after Palmer’s run dismantled the shaky Wolves defense.

The 22-year-old completed his hat-trick with a goal mirroring his earlier efforts, once again finishing off another Palmer assist to quiet the Wolves supporters.

Joao Felix came off the bench to seal the rout in the 80th minute, marking his Chelsea debut with a stunning strike into the top corner.

The Portugal forward, who made a permanent move from Atletico Madrid earlier in the week after spending the latter half of last season on loan at Chelsea, was set up by former Wolves player Pedro Neto.
