Former President John Dramani Mahama, the Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of engaging in vote buying ahead of the 2024 general elections.

Mr. Mahama noted that NPP members have been seen distributing one-liter bottles of cooking oil to market women in various areas across the country.
“They are trying to buy your votes with money and this oil; please don’t be swayed. I saw a video of the NPP distributing oil in the market.
This behavior stems from the fact that they have impoverished the people,” he stated while addressing a crowd in Chereponi, North East Region, on Monday, October 28.
Mahama further emphasized that the NPP’s actions are a result of pushing 870,000 Ghanaians below the poverty line, enabling them to deceive citizens with a mere bottle of oil.
He urged Ghanaians to support his campaign and to vote against the NPP.
