A recent poll conducted by research agency Global Info Analytics has revealed that John Dramani Mahama, the Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is leading the race for the December 7, 2024, presidential elections.

The poll indicates that over 54 percent of Ghanaians are inclined to vote for Mahama, who is seeking a return to power for a second term.

In contrast, the Vice President of Ghana and Flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, came in second place in the poll, with nearly 35 percent of voters expressing their support for him.

The survey also showed that 7.5 percent of voters are considering voting for Alan Kyerematen, the leader of the Movement for Change, while over 2 percent are leaning towards the leader of the New Force, Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Cheddar.

The poll’s executive summary highlighted that JDM leads with 54.3%, followed by DMB with 34.9%, AKK with 7.5%, Nana Kwame Bediako with 2.3%, and others with 1%. Weighted polling data further strengthens JDM’s lead, with nearly 56% compared to DMB’s 34% and AKK’s 7%.

Additionally, the poll revealed that a majority of first-time voters (52 percent) are inclined to vote for former President John Mahama.

Among first-time voters, JDM leads DMB by 52% to 33%, while among non-first-time voters, JDM leads DMB by 55% to 35%.

These findings suggest a strong support base for Mahama as the elections draw closer.
