Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, former National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has endorsed the John and Jane ticket as the optimal choice to navigate Ghana out of its current economic difficulties.

Speaking to NDC supporters in the Tema East constituency during Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang’s campaign tour in the Greater Accra Region, Dr. Ofosu Ampofo praised the ticket as the best option for securing Ghana’s future.

He highlighted Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s achievements, including being the first female Vice Chancellor of a public university in Ghana and her contributions to education reform, such as introducing technical universities and progressive free education in Senior High Schools.

Dr. Ofosu Ampofo emphasized that Mr. John Dramani Mahama’s decision to choose Prof. Opoku-Agyemang as his running mate reflects the ticket’s potential to provide relief and stability in the current economic climate.

He criticized the NPP for misleading Ghanaians in 2016 by presenting Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as an economic expert capable of solving the country’s challenges.

Despite this, Dr. Bawumia has overseen a record-high Cedi:Dollar ratio and the collapse of businesses and banks, according to Dr. Ofosu Ampofo.

He urged voters to reject Dr. Bawumia in the upcoming December 7 elections.

Dr. Ofosu Ampofo assured that the future of Ghana is promising under the John and Jane ticket due to their experience and capability. He urged voters to support the NDC’s presidential ticket.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, in turn, outlined the NDC’s readiness to implement policies such as the 24-Hour Economy, National Apprenticeship Program, Women Development Bank, and the Big Push to address the hardships faced by Ghanaians.

She encouraged all registered voters to participate in the ongoing voter exhibition and cast their votes for John Dramani Mahama and NDC parliamentary candidates in the general elections on December 7, 2024.
