President John Dramani Mahama has named Hon. Sylvester Adinam Mensah as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Export-Import Bank (GEXIM).
In this capacity, Hon. Mensah will drive the Bank’s mission to foster a sustainable export-led economy in line with the Ghana Export-Import Bank Act 2016 (Act 991).

His role includes enhancing trade between Ghana and other nations, supporting Ghanaian businesses in overseas investments, and addressing market inefficiencies to strengthen the country’s global competitiveness.
With extensive experience in finance, governance, and public service, Hon. Mensah is a Certified Strategy Professional and a Fellow of the Institute of Business Consulting (FIBC), UK.
He previously served as Head of Public Sector Banking at Intercontinental Bank (Ghana) Ltd., a Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon Constituency, and Chief Executive of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), where he spearheaded reforms for improved efficiency.
Currently, he is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), and an Adjunct Lecturer at the Nobel International Business School, contributing to the Certified Strategy Professional (CSP) program.
Hon. Mensah holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Ghana Business School and an MBA in Finance from the University of Leicester, UK, alongside several diplomas and certifications from prestigious institutions worldwide.
With over 20 years of experience in corporate strategy, strategic management, and execution, Hon. Mensah is well-equipped to lead GEXIM in driving Ghana’s export agenda and fostering economic transformation.
