John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has criticized the eight-year tenure of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), claiming that it has led to significant setbacks for Ghana.
Speaking at a mini-rally in Kyebi, within the Abuakwa South Constituency, on Monday, November 18, during his five-day regional tour, Mahama linked the country’s ongoing economic struggles and widespread hardships to what he called the NPP government’s mismanagement.

Mahama urged the people to reject the NPP’s promises, emphasizing the need for change in leadership to address the nation’s challenges.
“Ghanaians have seen the consequences of misplaced priorities and poor leadership. It’s time for a change that truly prioritizes the people,” he stated.
According to the former President, “The NPP government’s performance over the past eight years has been one of retrogression. Life was easier under the NDC government compared to today.
“Money that could buy a meal during the NDC administration cannot get you the same meal now. Things have been tough under the NPP government.”
