Former President John Dramani Mahama, the 2024 flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has emphasized the need for a change in governance and direction in Ghana.

He accused the current administration of corruption, nepotism, and theft, stating that a new direction is crucial for the country’s development.

Mahama expressed confidence in his ability to address the economic hardships, rapid cedi depreciation, and soaring unemployment facing Ghanaians.

He criticized the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its flagbearer, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for trivializing the presidency and urged that the role be treated with seriousness and entrusted to capable individuals.

The former President stressed that the 2024 election is not a time for comedy or deception but a moment for serious leadership.

He asserted that Ghanaians are facing dire challenges and require genuine solutions, not falsehoods and gaslighting.

Mahama’s message emphasized the need for a change in governance to address the country’s impunity, criminality, and economic woes.

He also condemned the politics of deception and sloganeering, saying they have no place in Ghana’s current political landscape.

Mahama’s statement highlighted the urgent need for a new direction in governance, emphasizing that the presidency is a serious responsibility that requires capable leadership.
