John Dramani Mahama, the presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has told Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that he doesn’t need a debate to answer five simple economic questions.

During a recent address, Mahama criticized Bawumia’s focus on irrelevant achievements instead of addressing the pressing economic challenges facing Ghana, drawing parallels to past elections in the U.S. that prioritized economic issues.
Mahama urged Bawumia to respond directly to questions about the current state of the economy, including the rising exchange rate, national debt, and inflation.
He pointed out that Bawumia previously posed numerous questions to former Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur and should now demonstrate accountability by answering his five key questions.
In response, Dr. Bawumia dismissed Mahama’s questions as “flimsy” and expressed disappointment that Mahama would not agree to a one-on-one debate to discuss their policies and visions.
Bawumia also listed several substantial questions he believes Mahama should answer regarding his past administration’s performance.
