The Office of the President has mandated the recall of all Diplomatic and Service Passports issued during the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo-led administration. This move is part of efforts to strengthen the integrity of Ghana’s official travel documents and diplomatic engagements.
In a letter dated January 14, Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, instructed the Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to implement the recall, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensuring proper use and administration of official travel documents in line with national and international standards.

All passport holders are required to submit their documents to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by January 24. The Ministry has also been tasked with reviewing the returned passports to ensure they meet the current eligibility criteria for issuance.
Diplomatic and Service Passports are essential tools for representing Ghana’s interests abroad.
