Kofi Tontoh, a political aide to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has criticized former President John Dramani Mahama, questioning his credibility and labeling his recent promises as hypocritical.

Speaking on the “Point of View” program on Channel One TV, Tontoh noted that Mahama did not act to cancel ex gratia payments during his presidency, despite having the authority to do so.

“As a former president, you had the power to cancel ex gratia payments but chose not to. Now you criticize someone who has never been president for claiming they will cancel it. This is hypocritical,” Tontoh remarked.

Tontoh also criticized Mahama’s record on government appointments, citing that Mahama appointed 86 ministers during his administration.

“President Mahama appointed 86 ministers. Where is his credibility? He has none,” Tontoh said.

“He was president and now claims he will reduce the number of ministers to 60. His credibility is nonexistent.”

Additionally, Tontoh questioned Mahama’s handling of disciplinary issues among his appointees, referencing a case involving officials who traveled to Brazil.

“When his appointees went to Brazil to sell kenkey, he simply called them to his office. Your boss has zero credibility,” Tontoh added.
