Former President John Dramani Mahama, the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has reiterated his commitment to forming a streamlined and efficient government if he wins the upcoming elections on December 7.

In a recent Facebook post, Mahama promised to appoint his ministers for parliamentary approval within the first 14 days of his administration.

During a three-day tour of the Upper West Region, which began on October 14, Mahama engaged with traditional leaders and discussed various economic issues.

He emphasized his intention to establish a “leanest and most efficient team” in the Fourth Republic within the first 90 days of his presidency.

He outlined his vision, stating, “In line with the vision—Building the Ghana we want together—I have shared with Ghanaians that I will not only nominate my complete list of cabinet ministers for parliamentary approval within the first 14 days of my office but also constitute the leanest and most efficient government under the fourth republic in my first 90 days in office.”

Mahama also expressed a strong commitment to accountability, indicating plans to implement a robust code of conduct for government officials to ensure their integrity.

He added “Our commitment to accountability will be unwavering. We will establish a robust code of conduct and standards for all government officials to ensure their integrity and accountability.

He announced plans for a National Economic Dialogue to discuss the current state of the economy and develop a homegrown fiscal consolidation program for future budgets.

“In addition, I will hold a National Economic Dialogue, a crucial platform for all of us to discuss the true state of the economy and prepare a homegrown fiscal consolidation programme to guide the budget.”
