Former President John Mahama has vowed to maintain a lean government if re-elected in the 2024 general elections.

In a statement, Mahama emphasized his commitment to reducing the size of the government and ensuring that public resources are used efficiently for the benefit of the citizens. He further stressed that his administration would prioritize accountability and transparency in managing state affairs.

Mahama’s promise comes as part of his broader vision to address economic challenges and improve governance in Ghana.

“He has been overwhelmed by the victory that God granted him. Even though he prayed for victory, he didn’t anticipate it to be overwhelming and as beautiful as it turned out to be,” stated Alhassan Suhuyini, MP for Tamale North.

The president was accompanied by a high-profile delegation from his party, along with the former prime minister of Burkina Faso, Dr. Lassina Zerbo.
