John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has assured the chiefs and people of the Central Region that he will make the Komenda Sugar Factory operational if he wins this year’s elections.
He made this promise while introducing his running mate, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, to the Central Region chiefs.
The introduction took place at the regional house of chiefs on Tuesday, July 30.
During the introduction, Mr. Mahama highlighted the qualities that Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang brings to the ticket and the vice presidency if the NDC wins this year’s elections.
He stated, “Prof. Naana Jane is a leader with high moral values; she is incorruptible.”
“All through her service to Ghana she remained committed and remained patriotic, she comes with wisdom, tact, integrity and decades of experience to the vice presidential office.”
Regarding the Komenda Sugar Factory, he said “I can assure Nananom (Chiefs) and our father from Komenda that when we come we shall do everything in our power to operationalize the Komenda Sugar factory.”
