Former President John Mahama’s spokesperson, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, has responded to recent news reports linking him to a report on former government officials who allegedly own properties in Dubai.

Newspapers had carried a report by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) titled “How Dirty Money Finds a Home in Dubai Real Estate,” which investigated how criminals and politicians launder their wealth by investing in Dubai properties.

The report listed four Ghanaians, including former government officials, as owners of properties in Dubai.

However, Mogtari has dismissed any links between Mahama and the report, emphasizing his incorruptible reputation.

In a statement, Mogtari described the reports as a diversionary tactic by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to shift attention from their own corrupt practices, including the looting of state lands and properties.

She reiterated that Mahama’s integrity remains unwavering, despite the NPP’s persistent attempts to tarnish his reputation.

Mogtari concluded that Mahama will reclaim the presidency and hold corrupt officials accountable, restoring Ghana’s economy.

“John Mahama Remains Incorruptible

Accra, Ghana – Ben Ephson and his tabloid news leaflet have once again demonstrated their bias towards the failed and corrupt Akufo-Addo and Bawumia government.

Let me remind them that President Mahama is incorruptible, unlike Akufo-Addo and Bawumia. Despite the NPP’s relentless accusations, Mahama has consistently emerged untarnished, a testament to his unwavering integrity.

The recent syndicated story is another diversionary tactic to shift attention from the alarming state capture under this administration. The looting of state lands and properties has reached unprecedented levels, and this story is just another attempt to distract the public.

No amount of fabrication can overturn Mahama’s vindication. He will reclaim the presidency and revitalise Ghana’s economy, holding corrupt officials accountable.

Signed,
Joyce Bawah Mogtari
