President John Dramani Mahama has dismissed Rev. Daniel Ogbarmey Tetteh from his position as Director-General of the Ghana Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The decision was conveyed in an official letter signed by Dr. Callistus Mahama, the Executive Secretary to the President.

Rev. Ogbarmey Tetteh has been instructed to transfer his duties to Dr. James Klutse Avedzi, who has been appointed as the Acting Director-General of SEC.

While the letter did not provide specific reasons for the termination, the Commission is expected to maintain stability in Ghana’s capital markets during the leadership transition under Dr. Avedzi’s stewardship.
