John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on the residents of Asuogyaman to ignore claims made by New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate, Pius Enam Hadzide, that he could secure them visas if elected. Mahama dismissed these claims as deceptive tactics aimed at winning votes.

During a large gathering in Atimpoku on November 22 as part of his 5-day tour of the region, Mahama cautioned the people against engaging in ‘skirt and blouse’ voting and urged them not to fall for Hadzide and the NPP’s false promises.

“I plead with you not to vote skirt and blouse. The person doing that campaign knows that they will lose the elections. He knows that Bawumia will lose the election which is why he is saying that you should vote for him. He is lying to you. No skirt and blouse.

“He claims he will secure visas for you, but all those are lies. Don’t allow anyone to lie to you. The person we are rooting for is Thomas Nyarko Ampem [incumbent MP] currently standing by me. So when you vote for JM, vote for Thomas.”

Mr. Mahama further urged business owners who are on the verge of folding up to remain steadfast as the next NDC administration will help them bounce back.
