NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama has directed the Minority caucus in Parliament to reject any efforts by the Majority group to recall the House before the December 7 general elections.

This follows a petition from the Majority caucus to Speaker Alban Bagbin, requesting an urgent parliamentary session to address critical government issues.
The petition, dated November 22, proposed November 28 and 29, 2024, as possible dates for the recall.
Addressing NDC supporters in Ellembelle, Western Region, Mr. Mahama stated that the Minority would not return to Parliament before the elections, emphasizing that the party’s priority is securing victory in the polls rather than engaging in pre-election parliamentary activities.
“Vote for Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah as the Member of Parliament of Ellembele, and if anyone claims that we are not the Majority, let them wait and see the result on [December 7] election day. That is when they will realise that the NDC is the true Majority group.
“We have seen their [the New Patriotic Paarty’s] letter requesting a recall of Parliament asking us to stop campaigning and go to the House. Let them go if they want, but we will not be going. We will continue our campaign. So NDC MPs, don’t go.”
