Joyce Bawah Mogtari, the spokesperson for former President John Dramani Mahama, has criticized the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for accusing National Democratic Congress (NDC) members of corruption amidst allegations against their own administration.

As the December 7 election nears, Bawah Mogtari highlighted that the NPP has not addressed various corruption allegations, including the misuse of public funds and other financial scandals involving top officials.

She emphasized that Mahama, the NDC’s presidential candidate, is committed to investigating and prosecuting these issues if elected, through a framework he calls O.R.A.L (investigate, prosecute, and recover all looted money and assets).

She mentioned specific cases like the $58 million spent on the National Cathedral project, a sole-source contract worth $34 million, and millions found in the home of a former minister, Cecilia Dapaah.

She also pointed out the financial hardships faced by Ghanaians, suggesting that these funds could have been better used to alleviate poverty and unemployment.

Bawah Mogtari concluded by calling on Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to respond to the questions he previously directed at former Vice President Amissah Arthur, noting that they remain relevant today.
