Former President John Dramani Mahama, the presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has emphasized the party’s dedication to accountability in government.

He pledged to implement a robust code of conduct for all government officials to ensure their integrity if he wins the upcoming elections on December 7.

In a Facebook post made during his three-day tour of the Upper West Region, which started on October 14, Mahama stated, “Our commitment to accountability will be unwavering. We will establish a robust code of conduct and standards for all government officials to ensure their integrity and accountability.”

He also reiterated his promise to appoint his ministers for parliamentary approval within 14 days of taking office and to create the leanest and most efficient government in the Fourth Republic within the first 90 days.

He described these commitments as part of a “Social Contract” with the Ghanaian people, aiming to foster transparency and efficiency in governance.

Additionally, Mahama announced plans to hold a National Economic Dialogue, a platform to discuss the true state of the economy and develop a homegrown fiscal consolidation program for future budgets.
