In a strategic move ahead of the 2024 elections, the Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has reassigned Kwaku Kwarteng to lead the Economy Committee.

This decision aims to counter the minority’s finance expert, Isaac Adongo, and strengthen the majority’s economic front.

On the parliament floor, Afenyo-Markin announced, “We’re bolstering our economic expertise with a new spokesperson, Kwaku Kwarteng, to challenge the minority’s claims and present a robust alternative voice on economic matters.”

He emphasized that the Economy Committee will play a vital role in scrutinizing the government’s economic policies, and Kwarteng’s leadership will be crucial in holding the minority accountable.

By reassigning Kwarteng, the majority seeks to engage in constructive debates with the minority, promote transparency, and demonstrate their commitment to good governance.

This move is seen as a proactive step by the majority to sharpen their economic focus and prepare for the challenges ahead.
