Manchester United is reportedly considering a swap deal involving Marcus Rashford to strengthen its attacking options, with head coach Ruben Amorim keen on adding reinforcements.

Rashford’s future at United has come into question after he was excluded from four matchday squads and appeared on the bench in the club’s 2-0 loss to Newcastle.

United is reportedly open to letting Rashford leave in the January transfer window, though the forward has declined multiple lucrative offers from Saudi Pro League clubs, citing his desire to stay in a competitive league that offers a chance to regain his place in the England squad.

Despite expressing readiness for a new challenge, Rashford is open to remaining at United, where he is contracted until 2028.

United is said to be weighing a swap deal involving Rashford and Napoli’s star forward, Victor Osimhen, who has a £62 million release clause. Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has been in excellent form this season, scoring 12 goals in 15 matches and netting twice against Tottenham in the Europa League.

A move for Osimhen could bolster United’s attack, which has struggled with scoring this season, having netted just 21 goals in 19 Premier League matches.

Napoli manager Antonio Conte is reportedly keen on bringing Rashford to Italy as the club pushes for the Serie A title, with Napoli currently second in the table.

Rashford would be reunited with former Man United stars Romelu Lukaku and Scott McTominay should he move to the Italian side.

United will listen to offers for Rashford this month as they try to comply with profit and sustainability rules, and would also consider a loan move if his new club pay a fee and cover the majority of his wages.

United’s players are said to be surprised at Rashford’s exclusion given that he is still the club’s joint-top scorer in the Premier League with four goals.
