A man wanted for murder in the US has been found 20 years later serving as a police officer in Mexico. Antonio “El Diablo” Riano, 72, was accused of shooting and killing a man outside a bar in Hamilton, Ohio, in 2004.
He fled and evaded capture, but was recently discovered on Facebook working as a police officer in Oaxaca, Mexico. US investigators contacted Mexican authorities, who confirmed Riano’s identity and arrested him.
He has been extradited to the US to face murder charges, which could result in a life sentence. Riano denies involvement in the murder, but prosecutors are confident in their evidence.
