Benjamin Mendy, a French professional footballer, has been found not guilty of six counts of rape. The charges were brought against him in October 2020, after a woman accused him of raping her in a Paris hotel in 2016.

Mendy, who plays for Manchester City, denied the allegations and his lawyers argued that the woman had fabricated the story. The court agreed and found him not guilty on all counts. Mendy’s lawyer, said that the verdict was “a victory for the truth” and that Mendy was “relieved” by the outcome.
