Manchester City experienced yet another setback as they were knocked out of the Carabao Cup third round by Newcastle United. Manchester City’s defender, Dias, unfortunately scored an own goal in the 13th minute, giving Wolves the initial lead. However, Alvarez managed to equalize for Manchester City in the 58th minute.

Hee-chan later restored the lead for Wolves in the 66th minute. This defeat leaves Manchester City just one point ahead of Arsenal on the league table.
