Manchester United are not having a good week. First, news breaks that Marcus Rashford, their leading scorer this season is out for at least 3 months with an injury, then they lose 2-0 to arch rivals Liverpool, and now, news has broke that number 2 goalie Sergio Romero has been involved in a car accident.
Pictures have surfaced showing the substitute goalkeeper’s £170,000 Lamborghini smashed through a barrier and into a hedge on the way to training at Carrington. Despite the shocking pictures of his car, which looks rather serious, the Argentine managed to escape the car crash without any injuries. In fact, he was was pictured standing beside his smashed up ride so we’re assuming he managed to get himself out of the vehicle without problems.
Romero apparently bought his Lamborghini back in 2017, shortly after United’s successful League Cup campaign in which they emerged champions. The 32 year old has been at United since 2015 and is widely regarded as the best back up keeper in the English League. He’s made 9 appearances for United so far this season, and with the club through to the next round of the FA Cup, we’ve not seen the last of him just yet.
