Ghanaian actress Oheneyere Mercy Asiedu Agyeman Duah has praised renowned highlife musician Akosua Agyapong, highlighting her as a significant role model for the youth in Ghana.
In an interview with Felicia Osei on Onua FM’s mid-morning show, Adwuma Adwuma, Mercy Asiedu emphasized the importance of celebrating Akosua Agyapong, who she regards as a beacon of hope for young women in the highlife music scene.
“Akosua Agyapong stands as a beacon of hope for young women in the highlife genre. We need to celebrate her and learn from her journey,” Mercy shared on Tuesday, October 8.
She also expressed concerns about the low participation of women in the highlife industry, stating, “It’s disheartening to see that women are not fully engaging in this vibrant industry. We need more female voices to be heard.”
