Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise has finalized a notable transfer to Bayern Munich for a reported fee of around €60 million (£50 million).

The 22-year-old English-born French Under-21 forward has agreed to a five-year contract with the Bundesliga powerhouse.

Earlier in the summer, both Chelsea and Newcastle United showed interest in Olise.

However, the winger opted for a move to Germany, where he will be under the management of Bayern Munich’s new head coach, Vincent Kompany.

During his three-season tenure with Palace, Olise featured in 90 matches across all competitions, playing a pivotal role in the team’s mid-table finish last season.

He joined the Eagles from Reading for £8 million in July 2021 and swiftly established himself as one of the Premier League’s emerging talents.

Last season, Olise made 19 Premier League appearances, scoring 10 goals, which garnered attention from several top clubs.

Expressing his excitement about the move, Olise stated, “I’m thrilled to join such a prestigious club – it presents a fantastic challenge and exactly what I was seeking. I aim to prove myself at this level and contribute to winning as many titles as possible in the upcoming years.”

Bayern Munich, determined to reclaim their Bundesliga title following Bayer Leverkusen ending their 11-year dominance last season, are reinforcing their squad with strategic signings.

The addition of Olise will unquestionably enhance their attacking prowess as they target success in both domestic and international competitions.
