The cedi is strengthening against major trading currencies, especially the dollar, according to Richard Ahiagbah, Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mr. Ahiagbah highlighted that the economy is growing and inflation is decreasing.
He shared these remarks in a post on his X platform ahead of the mid-year budget presentation on Tuesday, July 23.
Regarding the budget, Ahiagbah mentioned that the mid-year budget presentation for 2024 will not include any new taxes.
“To foster growth and job creation, there is a planned investment of GHc8.2 billion in SMEs. Let’s focus on the positive aspects and not be swayed by pessimism. Is it possible,” he wrote on his X platform ahead of the mid-year budget presentation.
