Speaking during a visit by the Vice President, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, to the ministry, the Minister, Mr Adjei, said, “The National Rental Assistance Scheme was introduced to help address the high cost of rental housing. In 2025 alone, we supported 2,031 new beneficiaries, bringing the cumulative total since inception to 4,732. We have achieved a 99% repayment rate, proving the scheme’s sustainability.”
He added that the government is exploring partnerships with financial institutions to expand the programme to regions that currently do not benefit from it.
“Going forward, we aim to recapitalise the scheme and work with partners to open it up and extend support to other regions,” he noted.
