The Minority in Parliament has vowed to support the upcoming “Hands Off Our Hotels Demonstration” on June 18, 2024, protesting the government’s attempt to sell four profitable state-owned hotels managed by SSNIT to Agriculture Minister Bryan Acheampong.
The Minority condemns this “sweetheart deal” as a blatant example of cronyism, corruption, and state capture, perpetuating the NPP government’s trend of questionable arrangements that prioritize personal enrichment over public interest.

The Minority’s statement, signed by Chief Whip Governs Kwame Agbodza, urges the public to join the demonstration and send a strong message to the government that Ghanaians reject this shady deal.
The sale of these iconic hotels, which belong to the state and are run on behalf of pensioners, is unacceptable and must be stopped.
The Minority stands in solidarity with the protesters, demanding transparency and accountability in the management of state assets.
This deal is seen as another example of the government’s disregard for the people’s interests, following a pattern of questionable arrangements that benefit government officials rather than the public.
The Minority is calling for an end to this practice and for the government to prioritize the welfare of Ghanaians.
Enough is enough; it’s time to put the interests of the people above those of government officials.
