Renowned Ghanaian gospel musician Nana Yaw Boakye, popularly known as MOG, has urged his fellow gospel artists to prioritize building meaningful relationships rather than focusing solely on financial gains.
Speaking on Channel One TV’s Upside Down Show on Sunday, December 22, MOG stressed the crucial role relationships play in the ministry of gospel music.
The award-winning artist acknowledged that significant resources are often invested in creating and promoting music projects but emphasized that the value of strong relationships far outweighs financial considerations.

“Money is important, but I believe that good relationships lead to good money. If you can manage relationships well, you can achieve much more than just the financial rewards you may charge,” he said.
He elaborated on how relationships can lead to unexpected blessings and opportunities, noting that a strong connection with people makes it easier to collaborate and give freely without reservations.
“This is because when I have a relationship with somebody, giving my everything to the person wouldn’t hurt because of the relationship I have. There is a saying that the highest form of currency you can ever find is a relationship.
“So, for me, my goal has always been building a strong relationship with people that God lays in their hearts to put me in programmes. By so doing, they end up being a blessing more than I could expect or I would charge,” he stated.
“… I don’t blame those who ask for money upfront before their show. It is because of their experience from certain events or certain individuals. So, based on that, they take a firm stance that you have to pay for them or they are not coming.
“For me, I can’t share my opinion on it. My thing is, it is based on how you relate with people. When I see it, it will affirm if I am going to come the next time you invite me or not.”
