Mohamed Salah cemented his legacy at Liverpool and in European football by surpassing Chelsea legend Didier Drogba as the highest scoring African in Champions League history, thanks to his well-placed strike against Bologna on Wednesday night.

The Egyptian winger cut in from the right flank and unleashed a powerful shot that found the top corner, doubling Liverpool’s lead in the 75th minute after Mac Allister had opened the scoring.
Since joining Liverpool from Roma in 2017 for €42 million, Salah has delivered outstanding performances, scoring a remarkable 216 goals in 357 appearances and providing 93 assists.
On Wednesday night, he achieved a personal milestone by netting his 45th Champions League goal, breaking the tie with Drogba, who had previously held the record with 44 goals.
Salah’s goal-scoring ability showcases his clinical finishing, as he has netted 161 goals in the Premier League and 45 in the Champions League for Liverpool.
He will be looking to lead Liverpool to a second Premier League title, with the Reds currently at the top of the league with 15 points after six matches.
