Mohammed Polo, a former player for the Black Stars, has cautioned West Ham midfielder Mohammed Kudus against wearing the iconic number 10 jersey due to potential spiritual implications.

Kudus recently donned the number and captained Ghana in their doubleheader against Sudan during the 2025 AFCON Qualifiers, where the team struggled, managing only two points from four games.

Speaking on Connect 97.1 FM, Polo referenced past comments by Kwadwo Asamoah about the spiritual significance of the number 10 shirt.

He urged Kudus to return to his previous number 20 if he is not spiritually strong enough to handle the weight of the number 10 jersey, highlighting that there is more to it than just a number.

Ghana’s recent performances have left them at risk of failing to qualify for the upcoming tournament in Morocco.
