Monaco defender Mohammed Salisu has been named in UEFA’s Champions League Gameweek Two Team of the Week.

The Ghanaian scored his first-ever Champions League goal, as well as his first for Monaco, from a corner kick with just 15 minutes remaining, setting the stage for a dramatic finish in Zagreb.

Salisu’s goal ignited Monaco’s comeback on Wednesday night, helping them secure a point against Dinamo Zagreb.

Denis Zakaria also contributed by scoring from 12 yards, allowing Monaco to maintain their unbeaten start to the Champions League season after their 2-1 victory over Barcelona in their opening match.

Salisu was recognized as one of the central defenders alongside PSV’s Ryan Flamingo, with Atalanta’s Davide Zappacosta (left-back), Lille’s Tiago Santos (right-back), and Aston Villa’s goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez completing the defensive line.
