The proud father of Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal has suggested that his son may resemble Diego Maradona more than Lionel Messi.
Since Yamal burst onto the senior football scene, comparisons with fellow La Masia graduate Messi have been inevitable.

He made his debut for Barcelona at just 15 and is already a European Championship winner at 17.
Records continue to fall around the exciting young talent, who is making waves for both Barcelona and Spain, with many predicting he could become a future Ballon d’Or winner. If he follows that trajectory, he will walk in the footsteps of football legends.
Yamal already seems to be on that path, delivering another standout performance against Villarreal, where he won a penalty and provided an assist.
He also faced rough treatment from opponents who struggled to contain him—similar to the challenges Messi and Maradona encountered.
Yamal’s father, Mounir Nasraoui, took to Instagram after watching another impressive display in La Liga, stating, “Great son, you remind me of the great Diego Armando Maradona.”
Barcelona has high hopes for Yamal, having secured him with a long-term contract and rebuffed record-breaking transfer bids from Paris Saint-Germain.
The plan is for him to spend many years emulating both Messi and Maradona in Catalunya.
